Political Science or International Relations?

Both are 200-mark Group I subjects, so they cannot be selected together. Your preference will guide the engine, but it will still compare suitability objectively.

Political Science

Better suited to students interested in political theory, constitutions, comparative politics, governance and political institutions.

Cautions
  • Broad theoretical syllabus with major political thinkers.
  • Answers must go beyond current-affairs narration.

International Relations

Better suited to students interested in foreign policy, global politics, security studies, international organizations and current affairs.

  • Requires continuous current-affairs reading.
  • Popularity does not guarantee higher marks.

Choose your history direction

Only one Group IV history subject can be selected. The tool will compare syllabus length, overlap, familiarity and your preferred historical focus.

History of Pakistan & India

Strong Pakistan Affairs overlap, but the chronology and syllabus are comparatively lengthy.

History of USA

Comparatively compact and popular, but popularity has saturated preparation patterns and some papers can become unexpectedly analytical or difficult.

British History

Useful for political and constitutional development, but still requires detailed chronology across several periods.

Personal strengths

Use 1 for weak and 5 for strong.

Language proficiency and Group VII preference

A regional language should be considered only when you can write it formally at examination level. Speaking the language alone is not enough.

Regional language

Can be a strong candidate preference when written and literary command is genuinely high. The paper generally must be answered in that language.

Sociology

Accessible across backgrounds and useful for Essay and social issues, but strong answers require sociological theory, terminology and Pakistan-based examples.
